2024 was a period of extraordinary impact
a Community of heroes
The communities of upstate New York, western Vermont & Massachusetts came together in 2024 to impact thousands of people through the heroic act of organ and tissue donation. At the most difficult of times, families from across our area made the selfless decision to help those in desperate need.
organ donors save over 350 lives
Organ donation provides the opportunity for people to directly save the life of those suffering from life threatening organ failure. In 2024, a record number of people said "yes" to donation, with 142 organ donor heroes saving 355 lives. Transplant recipients included children, adults, and seniors from all across the United States.
tissue donors will enhance 38,000 lives
Tissue donation helps people in countless ways. Transplanted tissues can repair injuries and defects, restore sight and movement, and can even save a life. One tissue donor alone has the power to enhance up to 75 lives! In 2024, 507 donor heroes gave the gift of tissue. We project these gifts will enhance over 38,000 lives in the coming years.
